The Dark Side of Plastic
Although I promised yesterday that I wouldn’t blow all of my findings from the Internet in one big splash, I cant resist posting this puppy up now. I just found it and thought it is worth posting.
Ross Grittins, writes about the future of cash (in 2004) and why we should all resist. It is certainly has an Australian twang to it, not only by the countless examples of spending in Dollars - by Australians - in Australia, but I guess you can build a similar picture of life and spending in Britain through his findings.
He isn’t very positive, he loves lots of numbers and despite reading the entire thing expecting at least a mentioning of some sort of conspiracy theory or Big Brother foreboding, there wasn’t one… bummer.
This is my favorite line from the article,
” Of all the mainstream ways of borrowing, credit cards have the highest interest rates. What silly, silly sausages.”
